Tilikum (lodsskøjte 1924), Denmark – Belgium
Tilikum is a gaff rigged pilot cutter (lodsskøjte) build in Eckernförde, Germany 1924. Although the yacht is pretty old, it’s still in a really good shape. Tilikum was well maintained by the previous owner and probably that’s the main reason why it’s still possible to sail on it without bigger problems. It’s an honour to us to deliver such a beautiful yacht from Denmark to it’s new owner in Belgium.
About the yacht delivery
Yacht delivery was planned for September 2016. It wasn’t the best time to deliver such an old yacht by the sea because autumn weather is quite variable. That’s why we checked weather conditions very carefully. The cruise was calculated to last about 10 days. Our crew came to Gjøl in Denmark on Thursday, September 8-th and spent 3 days to prepare the boat to the journey. Tilikum sailed out from the port in Gjøl on Saturday and started it’s way to the new owner, who was waiting for it in his marina in Belgium. The passage wasn’t easy because of the weather and the age of the yacht but it passed safely for both – the crew and the yacht.
